Cluffy Wedge

The Cluffy Wedge is something that is getting a lot more use these days by Podiatrists and other health professionals familiar with its use. The Cluffy Wedge was designed as an add-on to a foot orthotic to hold the great toe in a slightly dorsiflexed position. This means that the Cluffy Wedge is helpful for those that have a delay to the windlass mechanism or have a functional hallux limitus. The Cluffy Wedge is also being used increasingly at the retail level for those with functional hallux limitus, but it not clear how the retailer is determining the need for it. Only minimal research supports the use of the Cluffy wedge, but the theoretical rationale behind the Cluffy wedge is sound.
